OpsForm launches Europe's first pushback simulator

What is pushback?
Pushback (towing) is an essential maneuver in the airline industry. It involves moving an aircraft on the tarmac, usually with the help of a towing vehicle called a pushback tractor. This operation is carried out by ramp agents or ground staff, and requires precision, coordination and strict compliance with safety protocols to avoid any accident or damage to the aircraft.
OpsForm has taken another step forward by integrating Europe's first pushback simulator into its training courses. This innovative teaching tool places learners in immersive, realistic conditions, as close as possible to airport operations.
Safe, practical learning
The simulator faithfully reproduces Pushback Towbar and Towbarless maneuvers, as well as operations related to the job of ramp agent. Learners can practice, rehearse gestures and correct mistakes in complete safety, before moving on to practical work in the field.
The simulator also enables training in the operation of the various vehicles present on the runways, such as de-icing trucks, loaders and other equipment essential to airport operations.

The training courses concerned
The simulator is used in two flagship training courses:
-
Pushback training Towbar & Towbaless: entirely dedicated to mastering this maneuver with and without towbar.
-
Ground Agent Training The simulator is included, enabling future agents to gain practical experience of pushback in the full context of their ground missions.
Thanks to this innovative tool, OpsForm offers more secure, realistic and practical training, reinforcing the skills of professionals and preparing them for the challenges of the field.
Location and practical information
At present, simulator training takes place face-to-face at Aerocampus Aquitaine in Latresne (33360), offering participants an immersive, hands-on experience.
Very soon, the simulator will also be able to travel directly to your companies, making training even more accessible and flexible for ground crews!
